Wrapping up the Summer

As the summer begins to come to a close and fall begins, the stores start to pull out the Fall, Halloween, and, yes, even Christmas in some places. Even as the pumpkin spice lattes come out, there is still some time to enjoy to warm weather. During this time of year, time feels like it is flying by, and we wonder where the summer went.

I have listed some activities below that I enjoy during this time of year, as the football games start and school goes back in session.

  1. A few more pool days

With the peak of the summer heat passing by, it is still warm enough in many places to sit by the pool and even jump in. I know I plan to do at least a few more pool days before the cool and crisp fall air comes. It’s even better with friends, loved ones, music, and snacks.

  1. Late summer paint night

This is an activity that can be done any time of year, but during a time before major holidays allows for more creativity and relaxation. This is another fun activity to do with friends, and having cocktails or mocktails is a nice addition. The best part is that you don’t have to be a professional artist to have fun.

  1. Outdoor movie night

Set up the screen and turn on the projector! The sun is setting earlier, and the weather is perfect for an outdoor movie night. There are endless options, and something about watching your favorite films outside makes things cozy… Just don’t forget the bug spray and, of course, blankets and snacks.

  1. Day trip!

Labor Day weekend is coming fast, and it’s a great time to take a day trip. While longer trips may require more time and planning, a day trip can be done pretty much anytime and with little planning. I enjoy going to places about 2-4 hours away from where I live and stopping at places I don’t usually go to.

  1. Closet clean up

Revamp your closet. As cooler weather is getting closer, now is a great time to go through your closet and start preparing for the next season. I have a blog post coming very soon about how I go through my closet and get it ready for the next season.

  1. Go shopping

Labor Day and back-to-school usually come with many sales. Everything from shoes to mattresses goes on sale. I would say that shopping is one of my favorite hobbies, and I love to find a good deal.

  1. Enjoy the sunset

There is something about the sunsets at this time of year that is really calming and therapeutic. I enjoy spending my evenings on my balcony watching the sunset. It helps me begin to unwind from my day and makes me feel relaxed. This image is actually from a trip I took over the summer to Alaska. Check out my blog post about that trip here.

  1. Get ready for fall

It is a great time to start making fall plans and pulling out the decorations! It is also a great time to begin fall DIY projects and ease your way into the season.
